It’s Only February

Because of what is happening in the USA right now, rather than posit fear/anxiety in an overdue blog post, I’d rather mention: hope.

Do you, too, tap into hope-beacons? To help make sense of America’s currently completely allowed push-for-fascism? Beacons such as: Heather Cox Richardson. The Monks. Aloka. Everyone I follow on Threads. Beacons of hope, mindfulness and canny (canines included) insight?

NOT a velociraptor DEFINITELY an image of hope and my favorite picture in our house.

I’m a grad student registered in a university in a country other than my own, while I remain in my own country. As I study, I’m watching the country I’m getting my degree in toss around accepting the same cheated-into-reality-fascism in MY country, into THEIR country. Read it again.

My son just turned 18.

A rapist/pedophile/idiot/cheater/white supremacist is running the USA.

Our puppy just turned 1.

Ukraine is still under attack by Putin who is aided, apparently, by America.

My 2nd uni semester is off and running.

The Epstein files are getting people arrested in Europe, but not here, in America.

I’m taxi-mama and laundry-mama and meals-mama and writing-mama. Some weekends, we take our beloved dog to the beach and let him prance through the surf and attack piles of seaweed.

Minnesota is under attack by masked, murdering, lawless kidnappers.

My question is: If hope is the thing with feathers, are we thinking velociraptors?

Yours in the worst of times as we carry on with jobs, working for goals and dreams while tucking bear spray into our purses, yoga pants pockets, hoodie pockets, etc.,
