Bio

My writing appears or is forthcoming in, ZYZZYVA, Chaparral, The Pedestal Magazine, Crab Creek Review, Phoebe, Santa Barbara Independent, The Chattahoochee Review, Askew Poetry Journal, SCBWI-LA blog, and elsewhere. I’ve been a multiple Glimmer Train Finalist, Rona Jaffe Award semi-finalist, and received a poetry fellowship to the Abroad Writers’ Conferences. I’ve attended Bread Loaf, the AWP, and am an active member of SCBWI. I’m the author of the poetry chapbooks: Nightmares With Moons (Pudding House Press) and Valley Meditation (Finishing Line Press). For my middle-grade writing, two of my novels have won Runner Up in their category at multiple SCBWI-LA events. A 7th generation Californian, I live in Valencia, CA with my husband, teen, and mini-zoo. My work tends to include the ocean as backdrop or as a character, but living in Valencia for the last handful of years has assured me that mountains, too, fix everything.
