Tick Tocking Along
We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives… not looking for flaws, but for potential.
~Ellen Goodman
Happy 2012, authors. May the potential overflow into publication. And then some.

What a great way of looking at the evaulations so many of us make at the beginning of the new year! I usually go for goals, but in reaction to faults or dreams, not in reaction to untapped potential. Love it, PB!
Fantastic quote! When a short story isn’t working for me I try to “recycle” it as a poem – and vice versa. Repurposing is way better than scrapping!
I so agree–even if only a few lines make the cut–or, perhaps, a novel is born.
