Writing Advice

Arriving via Amazon tomorrow. Happy reading!

Just when I think I’ve read it all (which usually means it’s time to read more), the YA Muses post this. Loads of advice from debut authors. In fact, all week the Muses have been posting helpful writing advice from the newly published. Also, William Alexander won the National Book Award for his children’s book, Goblin Secrets, his FIRST book. Right on!

Yours in advice and encouraging news,

P (writing/reading) B

I have to say, I really love the cover of “Goblin Secrets”. It’s interesting and so wonderfully colorful. It would definitely catch my eye in a bookstore, like “Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children” did. File in things to remember…………

That IS a cool cover, & I’m so happy for him that it’s his first book. Can you imagine? I can’t, personally, but I like to try. 🙂

Jean Birdsall’s “Penderwick” book was also a first book/NBA winner. You should read it, a lovely, tender story, humorous, and she’s writen a few more since then.
